Coffee, Juice and Wine Stains:
These are some of the most common types of stains. To get rid of them, use a clean terry cloth or white paper towels to blot up all of the excess liquid that you have. Do not scrub. Next, apply club soda to the area. Then, after a few seconds of sitting, you will want to again blot out the stain with clean, dry paper towels. Next, do the same thing but with clean water to rinse the area. Finally, if these things do not work to remove the stain, apply hydrogen peroxide to the area and let it sit. Blot off any excess liquid there.
Chocolate or Ice Cream:
Yes, these wind up on your floor too. To remove them, mix one teaspoon of dishwashing liquid with one cup of water. Apply to a clean terry cloth and then to the area. Blot as much as possible with dry, clean paper towels or terry cloths. Repeat this process until all of the stain has been successfully removed.
Grease or Oily Stains:
These are some of the worst stains to clean up. But, you can do it. Apply a non oily, non caustic dry cleaning solvent to the area. Use only a small amount. You should check to make sure that this product will not stain the carpet itself by testing it in a hidden area first. Rinse the area with warm water and blot it dry.
